We guarantee that no pillowcase will be as close to your pillow as this woven chunky yarn case that you make yourself.
Literally with your own hands, because you don't need a crochet hook or knitting needles to knit it – your hands are enough! And, of course, the yarn, preferably CHUNKY CHENILLE YARN, which you can find in our store. Note – we used only 1.5 skeins of yarn to make a 45 x 45 cm pillowcase.
We present a short guide on how to make such a wonder. Remember that you can check OUR VIDEO at any time to see the process with your own eyes.
How to make the pillowcase?
1. Start by creating an initial loop. Arrange the yarn so that you hold the loose end in your left hand and the yarn coming from the skein in your right hand. Then, as shown in the photos below, put your hand into the created loop and pull through. Thus, our initial loop is formed.

Once you've done that, pull the yarn through the initial loop, creating subsequent loops – their number depends on the width of the pillow. To check the required length of the chain, hold it against the side of the pillow and measure the appropriate length. Remember that this will be the bottom of the pillowcase. Now turn the chain over to the other side, as you will be creating new stitches on the side bindings of the chain from both sides. To put it simply, you are just starting to make the sides of the pillowcase. Pull the yarn from underneath, creating new loops – look at the photo below. If you're still not sure, check it out in OUR VIDEO.

2. Remember that the first and last loop of the pillowcase side comes out of the same stitch. Also, make sure that the loops are the same size and are not twisted. While weaving the pillowcase, I used knit and purl stitches on one side, thanks to which I managed to get a decorative stripe there. To do this, you must find the two middle stitches in the row and use purl stitches when weaving them – in this project, I weave the 5th and 6th stitches from the top instead of from the bottom. Continue working as for the other stitches – pass the yarn from the bottom. Weave around the perimeter, then move to the next row and maintain the same sequence.
3. Almost finished! For the finishing touch, set aside yarn with a length of 3 x the width of the pillow. Take the loose end of the yarn and pull it through two parallel stitches on the corner of the pillow. Then position the pillow so that it is easy for you to pull the yarn through the other side of the pillow – opposite to the side you pulled it through before. Weave the yarn through two adjacent stitches – one through which the yarn was previously woven, and the second empty one. Remember to tighten the yarn by pulling it towards you. Continue in the same way – weave the yarn once from one side and once from the other side of the pillow (through two stitches at once – one occupied and one empty).
4. Finally, tie the loose end of the yarn to the pillow, cut off the excess, and hide the end inside the pillow.
