This is a question I hear very often — and honestly, I’m not surprised. Making a blanket without crochet hooks or knitting needles, just using your hands, sounds a bit like magic, right?
But I promise you — it’s much easier than you think!

Do you need to know how to crochet or knit?

No!
Finger knitting is a completely different technique from traditional crochet or knitting.
You don’t need to know any patterns, symbols, or instructions — and best of all, you don’t need any tools. Just your hands and a few skeins of chunky chenille yarn.

That’s why I always say it’s the perfect method for anyone just starting their crafting journey.

Why is it so easy?

  • Finger knitting is simply about passing yarn through loops in the easiest possible way.
  • After just a few minutes, you’ll understand the movement and your hands will start working naturally.
  • No tangled needles or complicated stitches — you just focus on keeping your loops even.

And even if something goes wrong — don’t worry! Chunky chenille yarn is very forgiving, and if needed, you can easily undo a few loops and fix them.

Most common concerns for beginners

"I’m afraid I’ll waste the yarn if I do something wrong."
Don’t worry! Chenille yarn is very forgiving. If your stitches are too tight or too loose, you can gently undo part of it and try again.

"I’m not sure I can make even stitches."
It only takes a few first rows. Then your hands will remember the movement, and everything will start to look nice and even.

"What if I mess up and the blanket turns out uneven?"
That’s exactly why in my course I show you step by step how to guide the yarn and what to pay attention to, so your blanket looks beautiful from the very beginning.

In the photos above, you can see a sample blanket measuring approx. 60 x 130 cm, made with 3 skeins of chenille yarn in color no. 50.
Working with variegated yarn (with soft color transitions and shades) may seem a bit more challenging at first, but after just a few stitches, you’ll see the WOW effect.
What’s more, this type of yarn hides small imperfections very well, as uneven stitches blend into the color transitions.
